Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost?

There is no cost to join.  The  Cadet Program is funded by the Department of National Defence in  partnership with the Army Cadet League.

The corps requires local community support to meet its obligations for program enhancements not otherwise provided. Parents and Cadets are expected to participate in  and contribute to fundraising as required by the League’s local sponsoring element.

The Department of National Defence/Canadian  Armed Forces assumes costs (including uniform and travel) for Cadets.  Consequently, membership in the Cadet Program provides thousands of  Canadian youth with unique opportunities free of charge.

How long does it take to receive my uniform?

Once your enrollment is complete, new cadets must commit to a minimum of  three weeks before receiving their uniform and other forms of equipment.

How much time do I commit?

The corps meets every Wednesday from 6:30pm-9:30pm, from September through to June.  Additional weekend activities will take place on average, once a month.

Other optional activities will be provided for those cadets wishing to involve themselves in everything the program has to offer.
